- katsumi was born the oldest of three kids, two daughters one son, to two loving parents.[break][break]

- katsumi's mother passed away shortly after giving birth to her last child.[break][break]

- after her mother's death their father had a hard time so katsumi had to step up and take responsibility. she sort of became the 'mother-figure' for her siblings and helped take care of her father too. [break][break]

- because she was forced to grow up so soon she missed out on the innocence of childhood. she developed strict discipline and a hard work ethic early on.

- growing up she studied hard in school so that she could get good grades, while working a few part-time jobs to help out around the house, and still managing to keep up with her family and make sure they were properly taken care of.

- around the time her father finally began to pick himself back up katsumi was well into her teens. she didn't resent her father though, despite all the hardships they went through she was very understanding.[break][break]

- to make it up to her, her father and siblings did their best as she reached the later bits of her school years, to allow her a moment to be selfish. still old habits are hard to break and she had a habit of ignore her needs or wants to tend to the 'routine'. a most notible instance was when her family surprised her with a dress for prom and tickets to attend. they made her feel real special even though she knew they probably struggled to scrape up enough to cover all the expenses.[break][break]

- once katsumi graduated her father decided to pull her aside and have a hear to to heart chat. he mentioned she couldn't continue to live this way, that she needed to have a chance to live her life for once. she argued that she was and that this is what she wanted to do but her father wouldn't hear it. he made her apply for colleges outside of hometown and made her promise that she would go and really experience what life had to offer.

- katsumi managed to strike a bargin with her father and they compromised. she would go to a community college for two years before applying for a 4-year college that she would 'study abroad' for. that would give her time to ease out of the role she had served for so long with her family.[break][break]

- after those two years were up she spent some time searching for jobs and schools that would accept her. it didn't take too long because katsumi's grades were phenomenal and she had glowing recommendations from her employers. soon she was ready to make her move to hoenn. for the first time in her life she would be living on her own and for herself. she was totally nervous, terrified even. [break][break]

- it's been about a year since living in Hoenn and going to school here. for the most part she kept her head low for the first year trying to find her bearings but it would seem she now has found the groove. now she's willing to show off a bit more, meet new people, branch out and make new memories without being scared she'll mess up and everything will be on fire.[break][break]
